Tallow is all the rage right now! And, I’m glad to see it! Why would we want any of the animal that is here to serve us go to waste!
I have been in search of the best tallow product ever since my friend Charna sent me tallow she whipped herself a couple of years ago. Talk about a gift from the heart! I loved it! I’ve collected I’ve collected a few jars and still haven’t found the right one.
High Vibrational Doesn’t Always Mean High Quality
Just because it’s high vibrational, doesn’t mean it’s what you want. Grass-fed Beef Tallow on its own is a beautiful moisturizer and it is a healthy fat to cook with, but it doesn’t smell that great. At least not to me!
Common Issues With Store-Bought Tallow Products
Additives That Interfere With Absorption
What I found with a lot of well-meaning producers of tallow skin products, what they add in to cover up the smell and change the texture, like arrowroot, honey, heavier oils and scents, inhibits the natural absorption of the tallow that has been used for thousands of years to heal and moisturize the skin.
Sticky, Heavy, and Ineffective
These products end up feeling sticky and heavy at best and ineffective at worse. Unless I want a protective barrier, this is not ideal for an everyday moisturizer, especially when you want to apply makeup right away.
